lights behind the OBC LCD to glow. As Kevin said the proof will be in replacement of the switch which I hope to have in just a few days. I'll keep you posted on the results as I had a lot of interest on the outcome of installing a new switch. Are you experiencing any other problems with your cluster. I am having problems wiht the trip OD resetting which I believe is caused by the ignition switch. I posted a more detailed account of this problem and my rationale on the root cause a couple of weeks ago. Try scrolling back for my post. If you can't find, it let me know and I'll send you the post when I get back to work on Tuesday.Mark Dorr

Mark Dorr has been fighting the same problem. He's the expert on this one. He's pretty confident that he's isolated the problem to a defect in his ignition switch and I agree that his logic in arriving at this conclusion seems reasonable. I believe he is just about to install a new switch, which will be the final proof he needs to post a conclusive repair for this problem.

Kevin,
With regard to your diagnosis of the CCM operation, and previous posts on the elctronics in these cars, do you have any ideas on what would cause the CC backlight to glow permanently after 5 seconds of ignition off? I have changed the top three caps of the group of five on the cluster main board, and am about to change the lower two of this group. Are there any other likely components that could be causing this?
Paul.
