Maint. test drive. "92" 735iL. 3/29/02. Got out on the highway, and up to 55. cruise'n very nice, three crotch rocket motorcycles blured by me. I thought, that ain't right, gave it a little to catch up and flashed 'em a little high beam. They wouldn't stand down, so I pushed the pedal to the metal and kept it there a while. I check my mirror shortly after, and see only one bike behind me. The owners manual says 137 mph is top speed for the 735 automatic, but when I looked down at the speedo It was reading 140 mph, and riding as smooth as silk. I almost wet myself, and slowed to let the rockets go by again. I think that will be the last of that speed unless I'm at a track.
Replacing rad. & heater hoses right now, preparing for a 5,000 mi. trip this fall. Can't wait to get on I-90 in S. Dakota & Montana, and set the cruise at a modest 100 mph for a couple hours or so. It's hard to beleive the comfort at those speeds.
