I am not sure i properly understood your question. If you are having problems with the brake lights staying on even when your foot is off the pedal, then you may need to remove the pedal and grease the pedal pivot point. A dry pivot will prevent the pedal from returning with sufficient force against the brake light switch. A noisy pedal is also a symptom of a dry pivot.
I really appreciate all the contributors to this board! As a novice BMW owner I have learned a lot just reading the posts and archives.
I do have a seemingly simple question -- when the ignition is in the first position, the tail lights come on, no foot on the brakes and the lights off. Is this supposed to be?
