I put in some 70% AF - 30% tap water ratio although you're supposed to use 50-50.

This because we have extremely hars winters with temperatures peaking as low as -40 C and I'd hate to see my $15,000 short block burst.

There is absolutely no point why one should use "BMW coolant", "BMW brake fluid" or other pricey BMW brand products.

Certainly, those are products that were chosen particularily to work with BMWs and are thus the "perfect" choice.

It still doesn't make them cost effective and I can't justify to myself why I should pay extra for something as simple as coolant when I can get known brand top end product for a lot less.
