Al, not that anyone won't have an opinion here...but the guys over there (W & T Forum) are looking for the same thing you are plus someone from the TireRack moderates the board. You might want to add what part of the country you're in, or what conditions you'll be driving in. Different tires are better or worse in different parts of the country (USA) dependent on climatic conditions and the type of driving you do.

It's time for new tires and I need your help. What tires are you riding on and do you like them? I'm looking for a tire with a very good turn response, smooth riding and very quiet. (Am I asking too much!!!)
I have a 94 - 740i and need tires. The tires currently on the car are Dunlop SP5000 Symmetrical. They are an very good tires except the sidewall are much too soft. To get any kind of descent turning response, the tires need to be at the max air pressure.
Any and all opinions are appreciated.
