Thanks. I assumed removing the front bumper would be a major chore.

Hope I am not too late with this suggestion, but the easiest way to access the bomb is to remove the front bumper. After the bumper is removed, remove the bolts holding the bomb in position. Then tug on the bomb (down) just enough to get a conventional open end wrench on the nut. No special tools, cutting, etc. required. BTW, front bumper removal is a snap.


The Bently manual makes the job of repalcing a brake bomb on a 92 sound so easy. I'm unable to drop the brake bomb. The steel hydralic lines do not allow the bomb to drop low enough so that I can access the flare nuts from under the vehicle. It appears that I have to access them from above by loosening the ABS unit or undoing the lines from their source.

Is there something I'm overlooking? What's the best way to access the flare nuts?
