I just replaced the head unit that came with the car (it wasn't the original)with the Blaupunkt Miami Beach which is very acceptable for my purposes. The stock amp was removed by a prior owner and the speakers were rewired using home stereo style wiring.
My install went fine except that only the speakers in the footwell and on the rear shelf work. As I said in my first post, the ones on the dash are shot. They are Nokian with "40 watts" printed on them. Would they be 8 ohms?
I'd like to take Ramesh's suggestion and upgrade but Chuck makes sense regarding compatiblity. I'd really rather upgrade to better tweeter if possible.
