There was an Alpine mobile security system in my 90 735i. Usually the lights flash and the system chirps when locking and unlocking the car, and when set the alarm would go off if the driver door handle was lifted. Out of nowhere the lights stopped flashing and the system stopped chirping when the remote was pressed but the doors still lock and unlock. The big problem is that when the doors are unlocked and the trunk is opened the alarm goes off every time. It is getting to be a pain. The guy at the auto shop said the "brain" in the system was going bad, which seems like a sales pitch to me. Has anyone had this problem before? Where in my car is this damn alarm so i can either fix it or rip it out. Please help me.
