These cars are too complicated for their/our own good at times. My Bentley is in the car, so I'll pop out at lunch & grab it & take a look at the circuit (unless you've already done this?) and see if that can shed any light on the matter. Any luck with swapping relays? It could of course be that the contacts of the relay are sticking, and so staying on. Might be worth popping the case and having a look as to how clean it looks.
