I believe your engine is speed limited. My 735iL did 140 recently , but I still had a little pedal room left. However, mine is chipped and the rpm are increased significantly and the speed limitation deleted. If I recall 750's are speed limited to 140.

It's limited to 250km/h, about 155mph.

Haven't tried yet, though.
