About 10" below the starter on the 735i their are two connectors. The one that is closer to the Transmission, with the Twist Connect is the O2 sensor connection. The one foward of the O2 Connector, which is rectangular with a wire depression release carries the alternator voltage. This connector passes through a metal bracket with a rectangular hole. When I replaced my injectors, I had to release this connector and the O2 connector to allow the wiring harness to move far enough out of the way to allow for removal of the fuel rail. If you want to determine if this connerctor is the problem, just depress the wire and remove the connector pair from the metal bracket. Plug the two halves of this connector back togeather listening for the distinctive clicks. Start the car and set the OBC to TEST 09. If your reading between 13.2 and 14.3 volts, your charging. I ran this connector outr of the bracket for a few weeks to prove to myself that this was infact the problem.

The problem here is that this connector is hard to make through the metal bracket.

Since this has been a problem to so many, I will take a picture in the next few weeks and send it to Don Gale.

And finally, if this connector is only clipped on one side, you get NOTHING out of the Alternator.
