I have done a few of these. You will use every swear word you know trying to get the shell out of the car without breaking it.. then you will break it anyway.. be sure to get a fiberglass repair kit, you will need it. Also get a flashlight and a long flat blade screw driver to help release the plastic retention tabs from their friction clips up underneath the shell (especially over the rear seat).

You will have to remove it from the car through the rear door, It helps to remove the door gasket to make a little moore room, then it will only make it out my mm's with squeezing. Also the WLS site is correct for 5 series, but the sunroof panel remover procedure for e32's is different than shown in the WLS site.

Good Luck!

Thanks for the responses, I'll attempt to repair it myself this evening since it not ripped or stained but in rather good condition just sagging in the back area.

I plan to remove the Head liner refering to the instructions on WLS headliner Website, clean the surface and use a little spray adhesive where it's sagging.

Any advise would be great.....
