I am having yet another problem with this car... 1989 525i. The problem is... when I turn the ignition off completely, the battery light on the instrument cluster remains lit. On occasion, the on board computer will stay on for a brief period, even when the key is removed. if I leave the car like this overnight, the next day, the battery is dead. I did notice this as well... when I lifted the hood, I could hear a buzzing noise coming from a part (I have no idea what it is) near the throttle gasket. It has a bunch of hoses coming from it.

It started shortly after a new alternator was installed, due to worn bearings and a whining noise from the previous alternator.

This problem is really getting on my nerves, because every time I turn the car off, I have to disconnect the battery.
