: last week my 90 535ia engine light came on and I could not get the car to go much faster than about 3 mph. After about 3 miles it cleared up and ran fine. (funny, that at the same time a noise that sounded like the driveshaft rubbing on a heat sheild also went away when it started running better).
: I looked at the fault codes via the check engine light and got these; 1222, 1122, 2112, 2211, and 2221.
: Does anyone know where I should start? From the bonneville mtr wrks site it may be the DME?, EGO sensor?, or Lambda Control #1?. So,,,, What's the next step?

The codes repeat, you are seeing 1222, bad O2 sensor, believe they all start with 12__ for your car, and most of the time the sequence ends with 1444 (end, or no codes stored). It doesn't explain your 3mph cruise, bad O2 usually just gives poor mpg and sometimes hard warm starts. I'd start with a new O2 sensor--
