: My (90' 525 auto) head is cracked ($$$$). I'm getting estimates of $900 for the head $500 for labor. I also see complete engine prices for $1400. If I should get the complete engine, can I put a different model engine (535,later model 525, etc. ) in with no modifications.

: Thanks

If you can get the 3.5 liter for low bucks that would be a winner. This car w/ 3.5 is a perfect car. The later model M50 engine is nice but it is still a liter short. No mods= no way. You will have to do a little research to figure the mods. Should be all bolt on stuff.
Another Idea would be to get a good used head($100-$300) and get the repair cost down to the $750 range. The $500 labor is spot on.
