I'm interested in what you've done to the engine and how much it cost. Have you had it dyno'd??

: I own an 89 535i with an automatic. I have owned it for about 7 months. I have spent about $8000 rebuilding it. From a complete motor rebuild to a complete suspension rebuild. I have re-assembled using high-performance parts. Motor hp is probably around the 250-260 area (still have more goodies to add). The suspension is 100% new, including Racing Dynamics springs, f/r sways, strut braces, bilstein sports. Needless to say...it has taken less than 3 months of road use to shred the automatic up.
: Since then, I have done alot of research ($$). After contacting Bavarian, BMP, Bekkers, and the rest....it seems as if they no longer sell (or if they do have any left in stock...don't want the hassle) reman. trannies!! Seems a big problem with BMW honoring warranties.
: Anyway, the basic price I have come up with to convert to a 5-speed...is around the $5000 area. OUCH!! I know its probably worth it....but it is big chunk of change! Does anybody have any info on the conversion...or suggestions??? Anything would help!!
: Thanks for the help!!!
