My car is a 518i E34 1991 M40/B18 Engine.

The car is difficult to start when it is cold. It does not have a thermotime switch or a cold start injector as these are present only on early motronic. When the engine starts it take time to idle itselt and it vibrates a lot. I have to accelerate so as to stabilise it. I had the injection system cleaned yesterday but it is still the same.

Could it be thermostat or the spark plug or anything else?

The temperature gauge shakes and then stop to stabilise itself. This was not happening a week ago. Morever the engine is using more coolant than before and I think these problems are connected.

Could anyone help me with this matter.
