: I posted this question sometime ago but did not get a response maybe its such a stupid question but I want to try again anyway. I know eventually Im going to need knew shocks for my 525I '95 I would like to improve steering response and handling but I dont want to sacrifice the ride
: quality. Would changing to Bilstein shocks accomplish this.I really dont want to change the springs and lower the car. Any response is appreciated.
I have never had to replace the shocks or struts on my '93 525i Touring--hope I never do, but I do have a suggestion.
I had an opportunity to but a staggered set of MK 17" wheels with tires for dirt cheap. I liked them a lot on the car (handling and looks) but I noticed that maybe I should be concerned with the clearance of the rear wheels so I installed a European M5 rear sway bar and adjusted the rear self-leveling so I had another .5 inch or so. This is a great way to go, especially if you can try it out first (maybe someone near you has the same set up?).
The tire sizes are: (f) 235/45/zr17 (r) 255/40/zr17
Hope this helps.
