Your 525i may get better mileage than a 535i, but if you want power, a 525i cannot touch a 535i, especially off the line. Depending the on the year, a stock 525 has between 170 and 190 hp. A stock 535i has 208 hp. The main difference is the torque. The stock 525 has about 170 ft-lb of torque. The 535 has about 225 ft-lb. That 50 ft-lb makes a big difference. If you drive the 2 cars there is no doubt that the 535 has superior performance. By the way, my 535 gets 24 mpg freeway/17-18 mpg mix/13-15 straight city. If you want mileage, a 525 will definitely be better. Bruce
