Well, that price seems very high. Supposedly all it needs is the proper chip installed in the remote, probably matches with the cars vin number or something. As far as worth 250 or 300 dollars...hmmm i have a '92 535i, the remote is big, clunky, i've had to take it apart several times, the screws broke and have taped it like crazy to keep it together(or else it won't work). All it does is lock the doors and activate the alarm, who knows how good the alarm is. It does make a cool honking sound, once for locking twice for unlocking, but everyone looks at you because of the honk. Newer alarms make the beeping sounds which are nicer, probably protect the car better, and the remotes are much smaller and easier on the pockets. The car also has a function to close the windows and roof if you hold your key in the double lock position for five seconds, if you guys didn't know that, in case you leave roof open, very common, or back windows. Therefore, i've heard aftermarket alarms can have a button to close windows and roof, along with door locks and alarm. Just my .02 cents.

: I currently own a 87 325is and I am thinking of buying a 535i (keeping the "3" as a 2nd car). What should I look for, are they good cars or alot of problems...I heard the 735 cars were real pains and expensive to repair, my 325 is great. Give me some opinions.
