Redline will recommend their D4 ATF as ATF was originally installed. I also live in CA and use the slightly-heavier MTL in my 530 despite them rcommending staying with ATF. I'm happy with the choice (for shifting action) but it rarely gets below 45 F here.

: ATF or Manual fluid???
: I just put Red Line ATF in... should I have used manual transmission fluid? The Bentley said use ATF, the tranny says ATF, when I emptied the fluid the previous owner was using, it was red... but some people say I should use manual oil... What would the difference be? I live in California, it gets 20 deg F at the coldest part of the year.

: Thanks!
