I won't presume to speak for anyone else on this board, but I must admit that the speed (really the acceleration) of the 540 is very attractive. The 540 has lots of other positive qualities, but there is something quite satisfying about being pasted to the back of the seat after the light turns green.

: : 2. The 328's seem to have a lot more low end torque than the 540. Step on the gas and it takes off immediately, and fast. In the 540, the power does not seem to kick in until about 20-25 mph. I have never raced a 328 side by side, but after having driven both myself within minutes of one another, it seems that the 328 would beat the 540 easilly from the line initially, with the 540 blowing it away after a hundred or so feet. Am I insane?
