If the hub-centric adapter is such a good idea, then why doesn't BMW specify E39/46 wheels for all previous models?

: Re.: Oops!!! Wheels for the E39 will NOT fit E34 or E38 without the use of some sort of "hack" adapter. I strongly advise against using adapters to make wheels fit correctly. BMWs are intended to be used with hubcentric wheels. 'Nuff said.

: That's a nice opinion. However, it's obvious you know very little about aftermarket wheels. E38 and E39 run the bigger hub bores, so you are wrong on that front. Secondly, I trust Richard Hammann's opinion and Herbert Hartge and Michael Krankenberg's opinion before I trust some guy on a message board. Did you know that almost all tuner wheels are being made with the larger bore and offering a special ring to insert with the older models. The Hammanns include this special ring for older cars.
