I also have had some experience with dealers in the area. I agree with the statement about Schwing. I also bought my first BMW from Russell. Good sales person but I was dissatisfied with the service. Before I understood the service lights I was asking for alternating Inspections 1 and 2 without them mentioning to me that there was an oil change in between. Shame on me for not knowing and trusting them but I feel that it would have been good service to let me know rather than take my money. I have also gone to tate BMW. I picked up my car when it was ready and lost brakes because the bleed value was open. Their mechanic comes out in th clean white coat with his german accent. I want good service I can trust and not a show. Both Russell (Buick) and Tate (Chevy) sell other makes and I feel devote more time and identity to those makes.

My neighbor works for Tischer (VW division) near Laural MD. I have no expereince with then but would go there based upon what I hear from him as to how they/he treats customers.

I have been very satisfied with Passport in Marlow Heights outside DC. Yes it is a drive but I have found them to be understanding and address issues for me. I started going there when I lived in ellicott city and my brother drives there from Baltimore. I would recommend them.

One caveat my long term service manager got another job and I am still developing a relationship with the "new" team leader. Overall I ahve been very happy with them. In addition, I find their prices on service to be mid priced in a range of other service providers. They have a board in the service center with nothinfg but complements which I read when I am there. Alot of nice things are said about the service customers have recieved.

Good Luck.

: I am a new owner of a 95 540i 6spd with the original block. I live in the Baltimore area and will soon take the car in to have the engine test run.

: Does anyone have experience with the test or a block replacement at one of the local dealers?? I am thinking of Schwing, Brooks, and Russel.

: Thanks,

: Alan
