The problem occurs with and without a Jim C chip!

best suggestion I've heard so far is that it could be the torque converter locking up, but why would it do it during acceleration (and not wait until after I let up a little). The RPM loss alwyas occurs during passing maneuvers - which is a little nerve wracking.
