Figured I'd wait till I get(hopefully)the free short block replacement and let BMW take care of it!
: : The valves are adjusted at every inspection 1 and 2, I hope your copy of the list included this item, it isn't that difficult. Looks like a complete inspection. Good job! Jr. 89 535...
: : I did it over a course of time. a few weekends.I place the time next to each task below.Only tool purchased was a 17mm hex for the Tranny refill hole($7 for a set which incl 2 other sizes). As I stated a lot of the viewers here are bonified DIYers who probably already have the necessary tools( a $300 set of Craftsmen)
: : : Seems like you saved yourself about $300 (although I guess you're not counting the price of the tools you need). How many hours did it take? I wonder if it really pays.
: : : : I just completed an Inspection II service on my 94 530iT w/ 64K mi for @ $300.Folks do your selves a favor and save your money. Most of the readers of this board seem to be fairly competent DIYers.I got a copy of the the InspectionII check list and was appauld at being charged so many hours labor to "Check".So I did it my self and saved a bundle
