Two years ago I bought an '89 535 with 128,000 mi. It now has 150,000, and is going strong. Had to put in about $2k to replace the head gasket plus a couple of others, but well worth the cost. As other posts have stated, it still runs very strong; it's hard to keep the speedo below 8o MPH. I'm confident it will go much further, I have started to do upgrades; added a Dinan chip and K&N filter, contemplating sway bars and suspension.
