I bought a '95 525iT a couple months ago for about $24k. It had about 45k miles on it, excellent condition in and out.
Standard 15" alloy rims, automatic, AC, stock head-unit with 6-disc changer, leatherette interior, power seats, cruise... it doesn't have: sunroof(s), advanced OBC, heated seats, memory for mirrors/seats, leather, wood interior trim.
Weak points by my experience (and by Consumer Reports) seem to point to the electrical system. My two problems have been erroneous "Check Brake Light Circuit" warnings (fixed, flakey switch at pedal), and passenger-side power seat occasionally blowing the fuse (not fixed yet).
I've included a link to a pretty good review of the car (below). I used to drive an '92 Explorer, and it was nice... but this 525iT is real nice!
: I have seen a 525it listed at a bmw dealer in Atlanta w/54000 miles and the car is eligible to be certified up to 100,000. I would like to know what the current"going" price for one of these is,and any potential problem points I should look for. Curently I have a z3 and a 535i.The it would replace an 98 explorer.Any advice/guidance will be appreciated. Thanks
