I'll bet you haven't replaced anything else upfront either?
Well, the best bet is to replace it all. I know Bavarian Autosport sells the complete assembly (control arm, stiffer bushings, and balljoints) for about $150 per side.
I know for a fact that if everything is original, when you take it all apart, you'll need balljoints.

Save the agervation, Bav Auto (800-535-2002).
Also, you probably need shocks soon too if they are original. This will all be costly, but the car will drive great afterwards.
