Your fan bearings are probably starting to dry out and cause the motor to draw additional current. Mine blew out last year and the local BMW service QA guy tells me it's a common problem and the fan eventually needs replacing. A service advisor at the same dealer told me that road debris can often cause the fan to stall and blow the fuse, but I don't buy that excuse.
Apparently it is possible to disassemble the motor and lubricate the bearings.
