Hi Warren,
you have earlier cluster, which is often damaged. There are no batteries inside.
You can do the following
1. search the archive about replacing 5 capacitors
2. search for a cluster from a damaged car
(you can also use the later "redesign" cluster. the connectors are equal. Only the miles are then wrong. Look at the list, a gave same tips to another person. You also can email me, because a have a additional cluster. A redesign, which works perfect. It's for sale.
