If tightening the belt does not solve the noise, the problem may be with the compressor clutch assembly or the compressor itself. the slipping may be due the stiff turning parts on one or both of these parts causing the belt to slip. try removing the belt and turning the compressor itself by hand you will need to put 12 volts to the clutch by turning A/C on--make sure car is NOT running when you do this.
