I would disagree. I have had both a Dinan chip and a Jim C. chip and I would HIGHLY recommend the Jim C. chip. The full throttle/high RPM performance is nearly the same.

But Jim C's chip works better in the lower RPMs (below 4500) at both part throttle and full throttle. This greatly increases drivability.

I am talking about my direct experience with a M30B35 91 vintage. Any other engine chip applications, I don't know about, BUT if I ever bought a different BMW, I would definitely get a Jim C chip or software for it.
