I just went from 15" to 17" BBS RK wheels with Dunlop SP-9000s. The ride is certainly firmer(currently stock suspension with Bilstien HDs), but in my opinion far from harsh. I seem to notice a bit of a glove compartment squeak that I didn't notice before, but I also was just working on the glove compartment, so I can't attribute it all to the the larger wheels and tires.

Other than expense I can't see any reason not to go to plus2 on E34s that originally came with 15" wheels. The ride is still plush but firm. Keep in mind that I've grown up driving all 3 versions of VW GTIs..anything is plush compared to the VW A1 and A2 chassis. Also remember tires play into the equation somewhat as well.

Should you live where it snows you can put the 15" wheels back on with winter or all season tires, again negating one of the potential drawbacks off low profile and wide tires.

: What is the overall impression from others who have changed the E34 wheel/tire combination to a plus 2 setup, on the overall ride quality of the car? Is it a big diff or a little diff? In what way? I've driven one with 17" wheel/tire setup, but test driving and living with it are two separate things....Opinions?
: thanks...
