The previous post was incorrect in stating that your car has the lifetime fill. IT DOES NOT!!! Only the 94 540/740 had the lifetime fill.Your tranny uses good ole Dextron III fluid. It is a very common and costly misconception that the 94 530 (I have a 530iT)uses the more expensive lifetime fill and the uneducated will argue you down.I went to an independent and had to educate them myself when needing to have my fluid topped off because of my incorrectly installating the pan gasket during servicing. To find out for yourself, go by the Stealer, ask to see the Service Mgr.In his arcenal of Service Tech Bulletins he has one that tell which models use what Transmission fluid.

: I was wondering if there is a way to check to auto transmission fluid on a 94 530i other than the way I understand it needs to be done - from the bottom of the car? This necessitates a trip to a dealer/service location that can lift up the car. Is there a dipstick or way I am not aware of? Thanks in advance.
