I live in the prairie region of Canada...where there is typically not alot of rain. This summer I took a 10 000km road trip to the west coast and down the Pacific Coast Hwy. to Malibu. It rained plenty.
I'll get to the point. After many hours of touring through the Canadian Rockies in torrential rain I started to hear a 'clunk-clunk' sound as my driver's side wiper came down. Upon reaching Vancouver I took the car to a dealership.
They indicated that there was play resulting from wear in the wiper console. At that point I chose to leave the problem alone. Has anyone replace the 'wiper console'? Does anyone know what exactly it is? I assume it is a linkage between the wiper motor & blade. BTW mine is an early E34 with the ADV system on the driver's wiper.
All suggestions are of course welcome.
Thanx in advance.
