I've heard the "too stiff" comments before..and I'm a bit nervous. I think, as I slowly become my parents, I like the softer ride. (I had a Nissan 240sx w/high pressure KYBs before) But, hehe, that ol' 535i sure does go when ya poke it. I just want the wheels to stay under me.
So...my current thinking is to stay with the stock springs, 15 inch rims, and move to Bilsteins. I'm hoping that the car maintains its boulevard ride for normal driving while using the rising rate Bilsteins to help when pushed. Keeping the stock rims should keep the jar / slap down... Is this how yours is setup?
: At first I thought they were a tad too stiff, but it seems like they've softened after a few thousand miles - perfect combination of ride quality and handling. FYI, I originally toyed with the idea of lowering the car with aftermarket springs and HD Sports, but decided that I didn't want to risk making the ride unbearable - looking back I'm sure that I made the right choice.
