Don't you think Car and Driver tested the same car on the same dyno? If the barometric pressure changed so drastically, it would be sunny one day and rainy the next.
: While it would be nice to kick the competition while they are down, let's be fair.. the cars that were tested were OBD-II vehicles, and as I've tried to explain about 1E6 times to people... You cannot "just dyno" OBD-II cars.. if you do, you have to dyno same car, same day, same dyno. This is due to environmental adaption which is much more agressive in the 96+ BMW's than in the older ones preceding them.
: I can't comment on what Dinan or APE chips do, but I can and will comment that my chips work.. they've been tested, not only by me, but also by your fellow car owners. They increase smoothness, add HP and Torque (you really can't add one without the other!) remove speed limiters, and raise rev limiters to optimize shift points.
: SO, don't go and tar everyone with the same brush, because you'd be VERY wrong.
