: Once again, I'm just trying to make it more than 2 weeks without a strange problem on my new (to me) 92 525i. :-) Anyways, I went on a trip yesterday so I hopped in the passenger side for the first time and let my girl drive while I reclined the seat and took a nap for a while. Problem is, now the seat won't come back up! Called and made an appointment at the service center for late this week, but he suggested it is probably just a loose cable (came undone). Anyone ever had this annoyance? Riding around with the seat relaxed looks mighty strange. Hehe. TIA

Common problem. Depending what the problem is, it could be anywhere from $30 (fuse) to $70 (cable) to several hundred (motors). Usually, if it's the latter (or cables), only one side of the recline mechanism fails. Take it to the dealer - have em check it out and fix it if it's only a fuse or a cable. If it's a motor, I don't know what to tell you - it's the price of entry!
