My problem is the tailgate works fine, but the window portion will not release. The problem seems to be the wiring...it takes a severe bend near the tailgate hinge...this crimp with age seems to make the wire break...fix is probably to replace a wire inside this small wire bundle in this area. Looks to be a real pain in the butt so I am presently "living" with this imperfection until I become "inspired" to do something about it. For a while the window would release only when the tailgate was UP...but this was probably due to the wires making temporary contact. Best of luck with yours.
