I had posted this problem before and had a couple responses. I also looked things over, albeit briefly, this weekend. My findings as well as questions are:
In my inspection from underneath, everything seemed to be in order. All the rubber bushings and such seemed to be in relatively good order (not dried out, etc.). While the car was up on the jack stands, I was unable to recreate the problem in an capacity. I did, however, notice that the right front shock/strut appears to have a minor leak. Could this be causing the actual squeaking noise?
James - Thanks for the input. When the car was up on stands, I was unable to recreate the sound by shaking the tires back and forth as you recommend. I did not remove or disassemble the entire strut assembly to check the strut mount itself. The sound truely was more of a squeak than a rattle, but had characteristics of both. Not having a spring compressor just sitting around the garage, I decided not to dig too deep into the strut. Any further or other thoughts?
Gonzo - I check all of these fittings, but more specifically what should I be looking for here?
Any further input would be greatly appreciated...Thanks...
