Most if not all fuel injected cars and motorcycles turn the fuel off over a preset rpm when foot is off the gas (TB position sw closed) and turn back on at lower rpm (usually 1500 to 3000 rpm) saves gas, lowers emissions, aids engine braking. This may be what's causing the difference
