I have been planning on replacing my driveshaft centre hanger bearing for some time now. I have the Bentley manual, and have reviewed the procedure thoroughly. I have a good garage to work in, including a floor jack and proper jack stands. I think I can do the work.
I had my car breifly at my local 'indie' shop today for a tire swap, and discussed my plan of attack with the shop manager. He was quick to point out the difficulties associated with removing the exhaust system in one piece without a proper hoist, etc.
I'd like to hear from other owners who have done the work themselves. Is it really that big of a deal? It seems to me that it should be pretty straight forward.
Should I go for it...or bail-out and pay the piper?
