I bought the BMW Electrical Diagnostic and Troubleshooting Manuals (plus all the other manuals like Electrical Drawings, Parts Catalog, Mechanical Troubleshooting, etc) from my BMW dealer. Where else?
Seriously, my dealer sold me the manuals because he knows that I'm doing ALL the maintenance and repairs on the car myself (except laborous jobs like changing the clutch, paint jobs, etc) and that I'm buying ALL the spare parts from him. So he's not getting or expecting any profit from work on my car. He's happy to keep me as a customer, to sell me the parts and to make some profit on the sale (10-15%). The manuals can be seen as just some other parts I bought.
Why can't this be possible in the States?
