Over the weekend, some Freaken A-hole keyed my 90- 525i. He took a key or some sharp object and scratched a wavy line the paint from the front quarter panel down across both doors and finished on the rear quarter panel. The scratch starts out not very deep, but the time he got to the back of the vehicle, it's down to the metal. It's not a straigt scratch, it's all over the place- very wavy.

What is best in this case, besides having the whole car repainted? Does rubbing compound work? Is touchup paint an option?

If I need to repaint, does anyone in the Bay area have a local recommendation?

Any advise would be appriciated.

D Preston
