: MY 1990 535IA KEEPS LOSING COOLANT. FOUR MONTHS AGO MY RADATIOR T HOSE BROKE AND IHAD IT REPLACED ALONG WITH A NEW THERMOSTAT. HOWEVER, LATELY IT SEEMS THE COOLANT LEVEL WARNING IT APPEARING AT FREQUENT INTERVALS, SIMILIAR TO THE WAY THINGS WERE BEFORE MY RADITOR HOSE POPPED. ANY SUGGESTIONS OUT THERE AS TO WHAT THE PROBLEM MIGHT BE. ALSO, I CAN READILY NOTICE THAT THERE IS COOLANT RESIDUE ON THE ENGINE BLOCK AND IT APPEARS WET BENEATH THE OIL FILER AND TRANSMISSION FLUID HOUSING.

If you're lucky it is only leaking externaly. Other wise it could something like a head gasket or cracked head
