post 01/95 cars need to be transferred to the replacement chip. The difference between the JimC chip and Dinan's is worth the wait, IMHO.

i>: I just called to order a new Conforti performance chip for my 95 540 6spd, manufactured 7/95. I was told I need to send my current chip to them in order to match the correct software. I thought 95 and earlier does not need flash reprogramming, and they could just send you the appropriately programmed EPROM???

: If it is that much of a hassle, maybe I'll go with Dinan -they're less than 2 miles away, and I'll only be without my car for a couple hours, rather than a week.
