: I have been lurking between the E36 M3 and this E34 board...
: for about 3 weeks now. I have both cars .. I drive the M3
: and my wife drives the 95 540i. Anyway, I noticed that
: I don't learn anything from the E36-M3 board... members
: over there are contantly fighting/talking OT/etc...
: I was looking at something more of a performance oriented
: or somthing like that to begin with. I was looking for threads like cams, gearing, shift points, clutches..
: it seems like everytime I ask/post something about the
: performance I get some stupid answer or gets shut down
: for asking. weird.. ... just venting.. thanks.
The average M3 owner E36 or not, is a overly involved guy who thinks that because he has a very fine automobile, he knows all, and is too good to share his wealth of information with the rest of us. (In most cases, because he knows nothing.) I am not saying that all M3 owners are like this. I am just saying that in my own observation, (and Dougs) that M3 owners are usually too involved in the price they paid for their car, and not involved enough in BMW as a car maker. They spend no time on BMW history. Half of them dont even know what cams are. I guess I am venting too! I love M3's and every other BMW, but sometimes particular people, or particular people with particular cars really piss me off.
The best thing I can say for you, my friend Doug: Check out bubbaclub.com or talk to Rob Levinson. I think Rob knows more about BMW's in general than every one on these boards combined.
As for you M3 owners, I steriotyped, and I am sorry. I know alot of you have good hearts. I also know that I will get alot of crap for saying the things I said, but it would be nice to get a real answer from some of you M3er's. As for the other groups, the E28 board especially, I would really like to thank you guys for all the great help you have provided.
