The shimmy you are describing at 50-60 mph shaking the whole car IS the thrust (lower control arm) bushings - check the archives for extensive documentation of this. Save your money, motor and /or trans mounts will not solve the problem you describe. The bushings cannot be felt or examined to tell if they are bad - mine looked and felt great, but the shimmy was there. Wheel balance is also critical to these cars - if it's off, they will shimmy even with good bushings.

: Additional info on the shimmy... I don't feel the shimmy in the steering, it's more like the whole car starts shaking... the sort you feel through the seat of your pants. I don't know if this is an indicator of the problem or not...
