: Thanks for the good words guys.
: I don't have anything against trucks. I happen to like trucks...and SUV's and Motorcycles, it's the individual that gets behind the wheel. Maybe I came down a little harsh, sounding as if trucks were the baine of all existance. Just that I am a little mad at the drivers that don't read the conditions and act accordingly, putting others at risk. In fact, my wife drives one of those dreaded SUV's that some out there love to hate. But I feel good knowing that she is a little safer out there with all the nuts running around and not paying attention.
: Well, Merry Christmas to all and will let ya know how it goes...

: : Hello all,
: : I just had to vent a little to my fellow e34'ers. Yesterday on my lunch hour, an idiot in a Dodge Pickup was driving way too fast for the icy/snowy (light snow, not that bad out) conditions and lost control heading westbound, jumps a divided median and over into eastbound traffic, smashing into my drivers side from out of nowhere! Left front drivers fender and wheel totaled. Flattened three of the four tires. Drivers door and mirror damaged pretty good but can still open. Looks like hood as well. I finally came to a stop after planting me up on a tall curb on the right side. I was unhurt but really pissed. Airbag didn't deploy due to angle of hit. The ol' girl did what she was supposed to do and protected me. A pristine example of a e34 badly damaged. I would say at least $3000-4000 easy. Don't know yet but its not nearly enough to be totaled. At least I have it at a excellent body shop here in Denver that specializes in German Autos and was refered by my dealer. The jerks insurance will cover it due to it being his fault obviously. If I get pictures form the body shop, I'll try to post them. Watch for those wreckless idiots guys, they're out there everywhere!

Merry Christmas to you too Shaun. I read your post the other day and with a name like Shaun Kelly, i thought the luck 'o the Irish would be with you even on the road ;^) Of course the fact that you walked away unhurt, and able to spend the holidays with family/friends IS lucky. I also was the victim of a driver from the shallow end of the gene pool, absolutely destroyed my baby at the time, a nearly completed '66 mustang ragtop--it only needed some minor interior trim pieces and paint:-( I was upset for about 2 weeks, but then you realize it's just a machine, and there are bigger things in life. Hope it works out well for you and don't let it spoil the holidays--
